FWPFGM2207 Undertake brushcutting operations
This course will cover maintenance and operations required to plan for and safely cut vegetation using a professional standard blade type brushcutter. Training will be delivered in a realistic working environment with training covered but not limited to:
WHS procedures
PPE selection and machinery maintenance
Start up and shutdown procedures
Removal, replacement and sharpening of blades. Identifying different blades for certain tasks
Environmental conditions and understanding various terrain
Indentifying vegetation to be cut
Site hazards and risks
Safe working areas and working distance
Site communication and safety
Machine operation to cut vegetation on site including cutting techniques, body positioning and lock out procedures

1 day start time 8am to approx 4pm - Practical NB Practical location is outdoors (woodland with no facilities) in a simulated working environment

Course Requirements
Training For Trees provides PPE, brushcutter and associated equipment but all candidates are required to wear steel toe cap boots. Gloves are optional and are to be supplied by candidate. Please note the location for the practical component of this course is in a simulated working environment (remote woodland) and consideration must be made with regards storing your food and water and suitable clothing e.g sun protection conducive for this environment.
