AHCARB205A Operate & Maintain Chainsaws (Arb)

This course will cover maintenance, preparing and operating of hand-held chainsaws in a simulated work environment and defines the standard required to:  select, use, maintain and store suitable personal protective equipment;  carry out routine checks and maintenance on chainsaw;  apply appropriate chainsaw technique and cutting methods according to manufacturer’s specifications and documented low risk work procedures;  assess and minimise environmental impacts of chainsaw use;  maintain records of chainsaw training and certification, risk assessment and use. The course outcome will provide the student with the skills and knowledge to maintain chainsaw and safely cross cut fallen timber

  • Course Requirements

    Training for Trees provides PPE, Chainsaws associated equipment but all candidates are required to wear steel toe cap boots.
